4Hemoptysis
Hemoptysis, often known as coughing up blood, is a common sign in lung cancer. It is estimated that around 20% of reported cases experience this condition, sometimes as the first symptom. However, people in advanced stages might face it more often. While this condition might sound dramatic and serious, most patients only notice a small amount of blood-tinged sputum on their tissue. Keep in mind that hemoptysis would progress quickly. If you cough up to two teaspoons of sputum with blood, it can be a medical emergency. [4]
