9Dehydration
Whooping cough is a disease that wakes you up with a sudden start in the middle of the night and has you dashing to the kitchen in a frantic search for anything liquid. This chronic cough is usually dry, making the host’s body dehydrated and demanding for water more than usual. However, in a situation where the patient is prevented from drinking enough fluids due to some symptoms, Intravenous fluids (IV) can be administered. The IV should also be regulated to control the amount of fluid the patient receives. This should be seriously taken note of!
