Numbness is the unusual prickling sensation that may occur in many parts of the body. People with thrombosis often experience this symptom in their legs or arms. However, many things can also trigger numbness, such as falling asleep on the arm, sitting with crossed legs, responses to some medications, or standing or sitting in one position for an extended period. Numbness happens when the blood clots put more pressure on nerves.
