10 Common Symptoms of Thrombosis

3Weakness and Pain

Thrombosis would lead to sudden numbness or weakness in your face, leg, or arm. This sign may be triggered by all kinds of blood clots, including pulmonary, embolisms, strokes, heart attacks, or deep vein thrombosis. It makes it unable for the patients to lift up the arm, speak, or walk. Also, they would feel like the legs become heavy or feel clumsy. Medical care is needed in these cases as it would indicate an underlying issue. [4]

Blood clots caused by thrombosis may lead to pain in the affected area. You often notice this symptom in the jaw, back, arm, or shoulder. In some cases, the blood clots even cause heart attacks. The pain might feel like a charley horse or cramp. But different from the usual cramp, there will be other signs, such as discolored skin and swelling. Keep in mind that any blood clot may result in this kind of pain, but it is particularly common with deep vein thrombosis. The sensation tends to be serious and not alleviated by OTC pain killers.
