10Salivation
A lot of people develop this symptom when they have acid reflux. When a person has GERD, salivation is a way of the body reacting to the stomach acid that has moved up to the esophagus. Stomach acid will irritate the throat and salivation will occur because the body will want to rid itself of the irritation effect of the acid. Since there are other medical conditions that can cause a person to salivate excessively, you should see your doctor as soon as you notice a persistence of this symptom. This symptom may also lead to vomiting because the body will want to get rid of the irritant present in the esophagus.[7]
