Too bizarre to be true, but different studies have shown how race has a whole lot to do with stroke. The reason a particular race can develop a higher risk of getting a stroke than other races is based on the choice of foods and lifestyles. In the United States, it is said that stroke affects African-Americans and non-white Hispanic Americans than any other race. Also, people with sickle cell disease (which narrows arteries and obstruct blood flow) are of large numbers in this group and others like African, South Asian, Middle East, and the Mediterranean. In the groups as mentioned above, rates of diabetes and high blood pressures are higher. [11]
