Some cases of mesothelioma cancer are reported in people who receive sources of high-dose radiation or radiation therapy to treat cancer. This is also known as secondary mesothelioma. Cancerous cells tend to grow in the treated parts. Commonly affected areas include testes, heart, abdomen, and lungs. Studies have found out that symptoms tend to occur after 20 years or even more after radiation exposure. However, it can be hard to diagnose precisely because cancer is more prevalent when you age.
