In some people, anemia is not caused by any other thing rather than the medicines they are using. Some drugs and treatments have side effects, and one of the side effects is anemia.
Drugs that lead to hemolytic anemia cause your immune system to fight your red blood cells because of the mistake of identity. Some of these drugs are levofloxacin, Levodopa, Penicillin, Quinidine, Nitrofurantoin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS).[10]
Also, treatments like radiation and chemotherapy treatments damage healthy cells, including stem cells. This leads to aplastic anemia.
