9Sensory Problems
Many people with autism often suffer from some sensory issues because their brains are overly sensitive to some external inputs. In some cases, you might find that several senses are overly amplified, while the others are dulled. Some examples to look for include:
– Hearing: Cover your ears or hide from loud noises; miss what people say
– Sight: Be overwhelmed by moving objects or bright colors; being attracted to bustle or hustle
– Taste: Only eat kid or bland food; don’t like new foods
– Smell: Feel nauseated or disturbed by some smells; love strong odors
– Touch: Don’t like some clothes or fabrics [9]
