8Meltdown
Another common symptom of autism is shutdown or meltdown, a fight-flight-or-freeze condition that is often mistaken by many people for tantrums in children. It is an explosion of emotion that happens when a person with autism cannot keep stress anymore. A shutdown might have a similar cause, but autistic people instead will become passive and might lose some of their skills like speaking. In some cases, you might see yourself as immature, hot-tempered, or sensitive. [8]
