3In Which States Are the Medicare Cost Plans Available and Who Are Qualified for Medicare Cost Plans?
The Medicare Cost plan is not available in every U.S. state. In 2003, the new Act by the government stated that private insurance firms could not provide Medicare Cost plans in a service area when two or more competing plans are available. As of 2020, this Medicare plan could only be found in the following states: Wisconsin, Virginia, Texas, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Maryland, Illinois, Iowa, and Colorado. [4]
You need to meet the following requirements to be qualified for the Medicare Cost Plan:
– You are living in an area in which Medicare Cost Plan is available
– You can find a Medicare cost plan that accepts new members
– You are enrolled in Medicare Part B
– You enroll during the valid enrolment period
– You agree to every rule in the plan during the enrolment
If you do not meet all of the above requirements, a Medicare Cost plan can be denied. [5]
