Tumescent Liposuction Benefits, Precautions, Pictures, and More

4Tumescent Liposuction Procedure

The basic steps of a tumescent liposuction procedure are as follows:

– A solution containing saline, lidocaine, and adrenaline is injected into the treated area. It may take around 10 minutes for the solution to be absorbed by the body

– Small incisions are made in the skin. The surgeon may need to make 4 to 8 incisions, depending on the treated area. The length of each incision may range between 1 and 3 millimeters

– A cannula is used for removing fat

– Once the removal is finished, compression bandages are used to cover the treated area

The whole procedure may take between 3 and 4 hours. [4]

Recovery from Tumescent Liposuction

Compared to other surgical procedures, the recovery time for tumescent liposuction may be much shorter. Most people can go back to their daily job in 1 to 3 days. However, it is normal to feel pain around the treated skin. If the pain makes you uncomfortable or disrupts your daily life, some pain medications can help ease the symptoms. Make sure to talk with your doctor before taking them to prevent possible complications. [5]
