6Drinking Warm Fluids
Staying hydrated can help improve some common symptoms of a common cold, especially a sore throat and headache. You can eat soups, drink hot teas, or any warm fluids to increase the liquid intake as well. This would prevent dehydration, a result of a common cold. Also, taking sufficient liquids can help alleviate sinus congestion and inflammation both in your throat and nose. You should drink more than usual when you are sick. However, drinking too much would overwhelm the kidneys and liver. Your urine should be clear or slightly yellow. Avoid coffee as it would worsen your cold symptoms. [6]
