7Use Essential Oils
Research has shown that peppermint essential oil can soothe the digestive tract and reduce bowel inflammation, which is common in people with diarrhea. Further research has shown that peppermint oil contains an active ingredient called menthol, which boast of anti-spasmodic properties [4]. This means it helps stop frequent elimination, pains, and cramping. One study found that peppermint oil is effective in relieving abdominal pain in people with diarrhea. Another placebo-controlled study which involved 74 participants found that using peppermint oil 3 times per day in three weeks, helped relieve abdominal pain and improve quality of life.
