Scallops can be a great occasional indulgence. But just like other types of seafood, it consists of a high level of purines that can be broken down into uric acid. This means if you consume them frequently, it might increase the risks of gouts, kidney stones, and some related conditions. When your gout condition gets better, you can have a bit more freedom.
