3How to Make and Use a Castor Oil Pack

Materials required:

Hot water bottle, One soft cloth made of wool or cotton, One bottle of cold-pressed Castor oil, Plastic wrap cut one to two inches larger than the cloth (can be cut from a plastic bag), Old clothes and sheets to avoid staining your clothing and bedding with the castor oil.

Procedure:

1. Nap the soft fabric into three or more layers.

2. Place the napped cloth in the container. Soak it in castor oil so that it is saturated, but not dripping.

3. Place the pack over the affected body part, stomach in case of fertility.

4. Cover with plastic.

5. Place the hot water bottle over the pack. Leave it on for 40-50 minutes. Rest while the pack is in place.

6. After removing the pack, cleanse the area with a diluted solution of water and baking soda.

7. Store the pack in a covered cool and dry container in the refrigerator. Each pack may be reused up to 25-30 times.

Important things to note:

It might be necessary to slightly heat the pack before use. Also be aware that for the first time, the pack will soak more castor oil than on subsequent uses.

If you want to take in, only use castor oil packs from the day after menstruation ends until ovulation when actively trying to conceive. If you are not going to try to conceive actively, Castor oil packs can be used from when menstruation ends through the rest of the cycle. Should you suspect that you are indeed pregnant, discontinue use immediately.

Generally and for all other conditions, apply these packs for several consecutive days each week or every other day for several weeks. How often you repeat the process is up to you and the time you have available.

The placement of the pack is dependent on the condition you are treating. You specifically place it on the affected area or if it’s for general use, you place it on the abdomen covering from below the chest bone, the lower ribs till the navel.

The pack is best used in the evening or any other when you are less busy and unlikely to move about.

Remember to lie on your old bedsheets to avoid staining the new ones with the oil.

Within a few weeks, the castor oil packs should begin to increase circulation throughout your body and helping to decongest and detoxify the system. [1]
