Possible Side Effects of Sertraline
Taking sertraline may cause both insomnia and drowsiness. Other common side effects include indigestion, diarrhea, a loss of appetite, nausea, increased sweating, agitation, fatigue, shaking, or tremor. In children, sertraline may cause addition problems, such as nose bleed, heavy menstrual periods, aggressiveness, urine leakage, more frequent urination, agitation, and slowed weight change and growth rate. In mild cases, they tend to disappear quickly in several days or weeks. While it is rare, more serious side effects may happen. These include suicide thoughts, violent or aggressive behaviors, worse or new depression, panic attacks, anxiety, irritability, anger, restlessness, sleeping issues, allergies, abnormal bleeding, convulsions, and serotonin syndrome.
