4How Psychedelic Therapy Is Done
There is no general approach to psychedelic therapy. It will typically depend on the therapist you choose. But in general, psychedelic therapy can be done in 3 phases:
– Consultation: The therapist first needs to have a talk and makes sure that you are suitable for this practice. You may need to provide information about your health, existing conditions, and any concerns or goals.
– Ingestion: In this step, you will ingest a psychedelic substance via injection or orally under the supervision of your therapist. Depending on the treatment plan, there may be many sessions. For instance, MDMA requires at least 3 sessions, LSD and psilocybin require at least 2 sessions, while ketamine requires from 1 to 12 sessions.
– Integration: You will work with the therapist to learn more about meanings from your psychedelic experiences. [4]
