4Yoga Poses for Second Trimester
In this phase of pregnancy, the women’s body begins to release more relaxin. This hormone helps relax the ligaments, muscles, and tendons to prepare for delivery. It means the body will become very flexible. That’s why it is important to avoid overstretching to prevent injury and discomfort. You should avoid the following movements in the second trimester:
– Hot yoga
– Bouncing, hopping, jumping
– Inversions
– Lying on the right side or back
– Forceful or strong abdominal contractions
– Excessive backbends or forward bends, and twists [6]
Child’s Pose

– Step 2: Spread your knees wide and touch your big toes together
– Step 3: Lower the hips back to the heels
– Step 4: Put your arms in front of the body
– Step 5: Inhale deeply
– Step 6: Stay in this position for 60 seconds [7]
