7Warnings For Specific Groups

The following groups should be cautious when taking pantoprazole:

– Those with hypomagnesemia, also known as low blood magnesium: The drug would reduce the magnesium levels in the body.

– Those with osteoporosis: The medication would increase the risk of developing osteoporosis, which subsequently causes brittle bones.

– Those who are going to have a test for neuroendocrine tumors: The drug would lead to incorrect test results. Therefore, a doctor would ask you to stop taking pantoprazole at least 2 weeks before the procedure. If necessary, you may also need to repeat the test. [8]
