5How Long Should You Take Pantoprazole?

For OTC pantoprazole from a pharmacy, it can be taken for up to 14 days. After this period:

– You may take it for another 14 days if the symptoms have become better

– Talk with your doctor if the symptoms become worse or have not improved

Avoid taking pantoprazole for more than 1 month without talking to your doctor. If you take prescription pantoprazole, it can be taken for several weeks or months, depending on the treated condition. In some cases, you do not have to take the drug on a daily basis, but only when the symptoms occur.  [6]
