8Vitamin E
Vitamin E is present in small quantities in some foods, and its function as a blood thinner depends on the quantity taken. Vitamin E containing foods include sunflower oil, almonds, wheat, and sunflower seeds. It is argued that vitamin E is more potent in supplement form, but this has yet to be proven. Taking higher than 1500 IU of vitamin E is likely to result in several adverse effects. However, those on blood thinning medications should avoid taking vitamin E in large doses.
