6Cinnamon
The blood thinning function of cinnamon is rather hypothetical, and has yet to be proven medically. Coumarin contained in cinnamon is a potent anti-coagulant in blood. Its presence in certain drugs, such as warfarin, affords remarkable blood thinning characteristics. Cinnamon has been compared to its kin, cassia, as both have great effects in lowering blood pressure, relieving inflammation, and perhaps thinning blood. Caution should be applied in the use of cinnamon for its blood thinning effect since prolonged consumption can be attributed to liver damage in some people. [5]
