2Who Are Eligible for Medicare Disability?

Social Security Disability Insurance

To be eligible for Medicare with a disability, you need to pass a rigorous process to apply for Social Security Disability Insurance. On average, it may take a couple of months to complete this procedure. The Social Security Administration first needs around 3 to 6 months to approve the application. This phase may be speeded up if your disability is listed in Compassionate Allowances Conditions. Once your application has been approved, you need to wait for 5 months before getting benefits for Social Security Administration. You only qualify for Medicare after getting these benefits for at least 2 years. In total, you have to wait at least 29 months and at most 35 months before getting benefits for Medicare disability.
