7Beans and Grains
In addition to veggies and fruits, grains and beans are good plant-based foods for a low-sodium diet. There are many options to choose from, such as pasta, quinoa, farro, brown rice, and various bean categories. Ideally, they should be combined and alternatively added to your daily meals to boost the intake of fiber and nutrients. Avoid prepackaged products as they are often added with salt for a longer lifespan on the shelf. Instead, go for fresh or dried beans and grains as they are much lower in sodium. [7]
