Loperamide High — Causes, Effects, and Signs

3Cause of Loperamide High

Loperamide was considered an everyday-drug until it was discovered that taking high doses of the drug had an effect which was similar to the one gotten from a high dose of opioids. People began to purchase loperamide in greater quantity. Some people could take as much as 100 tablets of loperamide in a day to attain the state of euphoria they afford. Now, opioid addicts who are beginning to withdraw from the use of opioids (due to the devastating symptoms related to it) have fallen on loperamide for safety. They consume high doses of this drug, not necessarily to achieve the same results as with opioids but, rather as a replacement while treating their dependence on opioids. [4]
