5Procedure for Laser Gum Surgery
The basic procedure for laser gum surgery is as follows:
– Step 1: The laser’s tip is placed at the top of your periodontal pocket
– Step 2: The laser emits pinpointed light to get rid of the inflamed and diseased gum tissue in the pocket
– Step 3: After cleaning, the laser is removed
– Step 4: An ultrasonic cleaning tool is used to remove calcifications and tartar
– Step 5: The laser is placed into the pocket again to remove debris and deep clean the area
To complete the entire mouth, it may need two visits, which last around 1 to 2 hours each. [6]
