5OTC Painkillers
If you experience pain or inflammation after an insect or spider bite, some OTC painkillers can help relieve these symptoms. Many non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as aspirin, naproxen, or ibuprofen, can have temporary effects on pain and swelling. You can also take acetaminophen for relieving pain, but this medication will not help ease swelling. Make sure to be aware of possible side effects, such as drowsiness, headache, vomiting, nausea, or dizziness. Teenagers or children who have flu-like symptoms or are recovering from chickenpox should avoid taking aspirin. [5]
