How to Treat Insect & Spider Bites

2Cold Compresses

After cleaning the bite, you can apply a cold compress or an ice pack to help reduce inflammation and ease the pain. More importantly, low temperatures would cause bloodstreams to constrict, thus slowing down the spread of the spider or insect’s venom. You should not leave the cold compress on the skin for more than ten minutes at a time to avoid tissue damage. Also, make sure to cover the ice with a cloth as raw ice would cause frostbite or irritation when placed directly on the skin. You can do this home remedy every 1 or 2 hours to relieve the swelling.
