9The Effect of Keto Dieting
Several studies have suggested ketones’ importance in relieving traumatic brain injury, where they help increase blood flow to the brain significantly. Following a keto (or ketogenic) diet simply means taking meals that are rich in fat and much less of carbohydrates. By doing so, the body and brain are thrown into a state where they become dependent on fatty acids for their survival instead of the regular glucose. This leads to more ketone production and fat burning; a condition called ketosis. The overall effect increases blood flow to the brain and other body parts. [4]
