Common Facts about Paleo Vegetarian

2What’s the Concept of a Paleo Vegetarian about?

It is a well-known fact that the prevalence of diseases has increased steadily over the years. Also, certain diseases exist today that weren’t there some centuries ago. This has led to several studies and insinuations, and finally, some scientific deductions. Some of these scientific reports have pointed out the role of our diet in affecting our general well-being. Paleo diet is developed with the idea that natural, whole foods were friendlier to the body than the processed foods of our time.

So, a person on a Paleo diet is more likely to eat eggs, dairy food, meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, tubers, and salt. Give them bread, sugar, processed foods, legumes, and foods made with vegetable oil, they wouldn’t touch it. These foods are deemed harmful to the body, some of them containing toxins and inflammatory chemicals. But a vegetarian may still eat these foods so long as they aren’t animal-based.

Recently, some vegetarians became enthralled by the principles of the paleo diet. They began to seek out ways to modify their diet to achieve the same health benefits associated with paleo dieting. Now, if you’re a vegetarian and wish to add paleo diet into the mix, but you don’t know how, you’d find some suggestions below to help with that adjustment.

  • Take the Junks Out!

Paleo diet is not just about the eating of meat and vegetables; it’s more about taking away toxic foods from your plate. Eating refined and processed foods goes out of the list, and you say hello to the natural. First, though, as a vegan, you may be inclined to eat some snacks and have beverages. Well, come on, these foods have nothing to do with animals, but Paleo says you can’t have them. They may contain unwanted additives. It means you should erase sugar off your grocery list, throw that can of vegetable oil out the window though Paleo favors some oils (Olive oil, for example) as substitutes.

  • Revamp Your Protein Intake

A paleo vegetarian diet doesn’t go along with meat. What it says is to avoid both extremes. Avoid what Paleo detests and kick out what vegan frowns at. It’s that simple. Nuts are fantastic to a vegan and form a huge part of their protein source. However, the paleo diet is against it for the fact that nuts may contain potentially harmful omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), which may have inflammatory effects when consumed. Good sources of proteins to help you revamp your paleo vegetarian status include eggs and dairy (if you can bear it).

  • Balancing Paleo and Vegan Diet

The reasons for which people adopt a vegetarian lifestyle differ mainly between the two groups. The first are those who took on a vegan life for ethical reasons, while the other group did so for health reasons. It is easier for the latter to take to a Paleo diet than the former since the paleo diet is designed for a healthier goal. Balancing the two, Paleo and vegan, involves keeping away from foods that alter the principles of either vegetarian or Paleo diet. This means you would consume more of the following:

– Eggs

– Dairy foods

– Beans

– Healthy fats, for example, omega-3 fatty acids

– Supplements (to make up for deficiencies).[2]
