If you have worked, but not long enough to get premium-free Medicare Part A, it is still possible to qualify. However, the amount of premium you have to pay will be based on the total length of your work history. As of 2022, here are what you have to pay:
– If you have worked at least 40 quarters, you do not need to pay any premium for Medicare Part A
– If you have worked no more than 30 quarters, you need to pay a premium of $499 per month for Medicare Part A
– If you have worked from 30 to 39 quarters, you need to pay a premium of $274 per month for Medicare Part A [7]
