3Varicella Zoster Virus – HHV-3
Human herpes virus 3, also known as the varicella-zoster virus, can trigger chickenpox. In addition, it would lead to a recurrent virus infection on the skin, which is called shingles or herpes zoster. This condition happens when dormant HHV-3 from an initial chickenpox bout becomes activated again. Similar to HHV1, the virus tends to infect nerve cells and skin cells. It would also recur along your nerve fiber pathways, resulting in multiple sores. Since the whole group of cells is usually affected, shingles tend to be much more serious than herpes simplex.
