To perform step-ups, you first need to stand around 60 centimeters in from of a secured bench or box. Make sure the surface does not move during the exercise. Put the left foot on top of the bench or box and the ankles, knees, and hips should be at a right angle. From this position, push the left foot into the bench or box and keep your glutes squeezed to lift up the body. Keep the right foot in the air rather than having it on top of the bench or box. Next, lower the body down to complete one rep. Try to do 15 to 20 reps and switch to the other feet. [7]
