7Chigger Bites
Chiggers, also known as harvest mites or berry bugs, are small, red insects that are nearly invisible to our naked eye. The bitten areas tend to show up as red, flat spots or red, raised bumps. Sometimes, they would even become pustules or blisters. Commonly affected parts of the body include the waist, groin, thighs, wrists, and ankles. Many people believe that chiggers would suck blood or penetrate the skin, but it is not true. You may have severe discomfort in 2 weeks, but these insects do not spread disease. [11]
Lice Bites
Lices are small parasitic insects, which can be found in the bedding or on the clothes. Their bites typically appear as small red marks on the scalp, neck, and shoulders. Due to their small sizes, these insects do not hurt, but they may itch. Some individuals report an uncomfortable, bigger skin rash from the affected areas. If you scratch the itchy bumps too much, it may result in an infection characterized by red and tender skin or swollen lymph nodes. [12]
