Ureters are two tubes that connect the upper end of the kidneys with the lower end of bladders. They are responsible for carrying urine between the two organs. The typical length is between 10 and 16 inches. These tubes run along the right and left parts of the body and parallel to the vertebral column. In general, urine in the kidneys will flow through the ureters after the filtration into the bladder. However, this is not a passive flow. The ureters use waves of contraction to push urine at low pressure.  [3]

Urinary Bladder

The urinary bladder is a muscular and hollow organ with a pear shape. It is located on the pelvic floor. The main role of this part is to receive urine from the ureters before the urethra removes it. The volume of the bladder can vary from individual to individual, typically between 400 and 1000 mL. The base of the bladder is called the fundus, which contains the posterior wall. [4]
