6Stages of Vascular Dementia
Vascular dementia basically happens in noticeable stages. In the first stage, mild cognitive impairment occurs after a stroke. There might be some minor mental and memory issues, but it can be challenging to diagnose the condition. When more serious strokes happen, it would lead to advanced vascular dementia. Similarly, a series of mini strokes would cause a lack of blood and oxygen in the brain for an extended period of time. In the long run, it results in significant changes in physical and cognitive capabilities. At this stage, symptoms can be noticed and diagnosed easily.[6]
