Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is a mental health condition that involves manipulative behavior in the use of words to dominate other people’s thoughts and will. It is associated with emotional manipulation, in which the narcissist tries to control how other people think. Narcissists are usually engrossed in themselves and are bent on getting the attention they desire. A narcissist may not be abusive, although most are, they are characterized by their low level of empathy for other people. Narcissistic abuse syndrome is what someone who is in a relationship with an abusive narcissist may suffer. People with narcissistic personality disorder have a thing with disguising their true intentions and can make their victims begin to doubt their own sanity or distrust their loved ones. The narcissist is crafty with words in an ugly way that they subtly cajole their victims into doubting their abilities to think or solve problems; playing down their own ideas; feeling worthless; submitting their wills to the narcissist; try frantically to please the narcissist by doing their bidding. The list goes on and on until you realize that you might have been a victim of narcissistic abuse syndrome yourself. [1]
