Many OTC treatments are available to improve symptoms of Demodex mites. These include:

– Crotamiton: This is a topical scabicide that can help alleviate itching. You should apply it after washing the face. It is possible to experience mild skin irritation
– Metronidazole: This antibiotic can prevent bacteria from growing. You can take it orally or apply it topically. Possible side effects include stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting, and nausea
– Ivermectin: This medication is prescribed when other treatment options do not work. People with weakened immune systems can find Ivermectin helpful. A single dose is enough. Vomiting, nausea, and dizziness are possible side effects. [9]
