Type 2 diabetes may affect almost all major organs in the body of children. These include the kidneys, eyes, nerves, and blood vessels. If left untreated, many complications may develop and become worse over time. Common problems of type 2 diabetes in children include stroke, blood vessel and heart diseases, high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, amputation, blindness, kidney disease, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
