Diabetes occurs when the level of glucose in your blood is higher than usual. The buildup of these elements would damage kidneys and microvessels, the smallest vessels in the body. Since kidneys are the main organs that are responsible for regulating blood pressure, diabetes would increase the risk of hypertension, which is a major cause of transient ischemic attacks as mentioned above.
