4Birth
Those infants who are born premature or take formula milk rather than breast milk might also suffer from colitis. This often occurs within 2 to 3 weeks after birth. While colitis would happen more rarely in near-term and full-term babies, symptoms would show up from 1 to 3 days during the first month after delivery. Colitis in babies would be very dangerous, with the mortality rate of up to 50%. Some common symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting or bloody stool. [4]
