Strengthening and stretching muscles regularly can be effective in preventing and treating toe cramps. Below are certain exercises that you can try at home:
– Toe flex: Flex the foot so that the big toe looks like pointing in one direction. Stay in this position 5 seconds and do it 10 times.
– Toe raise: Raise the heel off the ground until only the foot’s ball and toes touch the floor. Stay in this position 5 seconds and do it 10 times.
– Sand walking: Walking barefoot on the beach sand could provide similar effects as massage. This activity can also strengthen your toe and feet muscles.
– Toe curl: Bend all toes as though you are truck them under the foot. Stay in this position 5 seconds and do it 10 times. An alternative is to place a towel on the floor and grab it with the toes.[9]
