Children with measles also expose conjunctivitis symptoms or the pink eye as commonly known. The eyes turning pink comes as a result of the conjunctiva getting inflamed, thus having a change in color. You notice that the eye becomes red or pink where it may also get swollen, irritating, and even the presence of mucus in the eye. The condition may turn contagious if it’s ineffective. When the eye gets inflamed, you realize that it causes the capillaries in the conjunctiva to become more prominent, which causes discomfort and the eye to appear red or pink. The condition can last for several days resulting in allergy, irritation, and infections, and it requires you to take the child to the hospital for further analysis. [3]
