Although some people may have the bacteria in them for a long time without displaying the symptoms, manifestations of C. Difficile vary from person to person. It is mild in some patients, with diarrhea (or watery stool) as the major signs. Severe cases of the infection occur in situations where blood or pus could be visible in the patient’s stool. Other severe cases of C. Difficile might be the cause of abdominal or stomach pains, due to a large number of the Clostridium Difficile bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. Having diarrhea up to four times daily can be an indicative sign of C. Difficile infection. In some cases, severe dehydration is a pointer to the disease. [6]
