If stomach cancer has not spread yet, it requires surgery to get rid of the tumor. The main goal is to remove the whole growth and a small area of healthy tissues that can be affected. Close lymph nodes can also be removed as well. In the early stages, this option can increase your survival rate and alleviate the symptoms caused by cancerous cells. Though surgery cannot cure advanced cancer, it would make you feel more comfortable. Keep in mind that surgery would cause injection or bleeding as a risk. Also, some people might experience digestive issues after the operation. [8]
