In allogeneic transplants, stem cells will be removed from a donor. The results can be better when donated cells are closely match their own form. It means you parents, siblings, or close relatives will be the best donors. Compared to autologous transplants, allogeneic transplant may pose more risks. Nevertheless, scientists have found that they would be more effective as the transplanted cells would help kill cancerous cells. Doctors do not consider allogeneic transplants as a standard treatment for people with multiple myeloma. But they can be part of clinical trials. [3]
