6Feeling Hot or Cold
This particular sign is related to both forms of thyroid problems- hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) and hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). An overactive thyroid will cause your body system to speed up, creating more energy to be burned by cells, thereby, causing you to feel hot and even sweat profusely. An underactive thyroid will, however, cause the body system to slow down, and so the body cells will burn low energy which will result in low heat being produced. So, if you have a thyroid problem, you might either feel too hot or too cold, even when people around you feel that the temperature is normal. In essence, you develop an abnormal reaction to heat.
