You find that poliovirus settles on joints and muscles, thus settling on the neck and starts multiplying, resulting in severe neck pain. Polio infection causes the neck muscles to stiffen, leading in stiff muscles and severe neck pain. The pain may start a few hours or days after the poliovirus attack and spread to all sides of the patient’s neck. [8]
