Rinvoq Oral: Uses, Side Effects, Interactions & More

4How to Take Rinvoq

It is advisable to follow the instructions of your doctor when taking Rinvoq. The medication can be taken at any time of day. However, you should take it at the same time per day. Consider setting a reminder to avoid missing a dose. You can take Rinvoq with or without food. Avoid chewing, splitting, or crushing Rinvoq tablets as it may reduce the effectiveness of the medication. Instead, swallow the whole tablet with water. [5]

Precautions Before Taking Rinvoq

Before taking Rinvoq, make sure to inform your doctor about any symptoms of an infection, such as cough, tiredness, body aches, chills, or fever. Do not take the medication if you have an active infection. Also, let your doctor know if you have diabetes, heart issues, cancer, blood clot, shingles, hepatitis B, diverticulitis, stomach ulcers, or intestine ulcers. The same goes for breastfeeding or pregnant women and former or current smokers.

In addition, you need to inform your doctor about all the medications that you are taking, including herbal supplements, vitamins, OTC treatments, and prescription drugs. Your doctor particularly needs to know whether you take medications to treat bacterial or fungal infections, phenytoin, rifampicin, or medications that affect the immune system. [6]
